Post –Secondary and Career Exploration & Community Engagement (C&C)
- Resume making (paper and online), business email writing skills
- Understand post-secondary applications, explore interested programs
- Work experience learning with guest speakers
- Building your own Capstone project (for Gr. 11/12)
- Community service (volunteering) and other career learning involvement opportunities
Expectations
- A school year, automatically enrolled as FunforGOal youth members
- Online meeting discussion 1/week/ hour
- Weekend in-person volunteering outings (arranged and guided)
- Focus on exploring and growing own career interests
- Other skills related certification/ workshops (some are not included in the fee)
- Mental wellness check-ins/ activities
- Communication with parents and children
- Assist with internship placement finding
Achievement
- Obtain up to 100 volunteering hours (requirement to graduate from BC high school is min. 30 hours). * Those who participate in the Advanced program will obtain a total of 200 hours.
- A personal resume completed and assist working on personal Blueprint from school
- Acquire multiple essential social and business skills for future university life and jobs
- Write up for universities’ Personal Profile Section
- Learn school/ job interview questions and writing professional business emails
- Successfully completed one or two Youth Leadership Groups with award certifications and other certifications (ex. First Aid Certification).
